Pieces of Me is an exploration of the challenges many African-Americans face. The effects of slavery have made it difficult for families to trace family lineage.

Through archival searching, I found pictures of family members that are featured in the work. The oldest images date back to 1870, and my family members are amongst the first Black lawyers in NJ, the Tuskegee Airmen, and more. Although some pieces are missing, these are the people who have shaped my life and made me who I am today.
